FANATICS

FanCash Pickup

To earn attention for Fanatics’ new loyalty program called FanCash, we produced a March Madness trivia show hosted by Joakim Noah and shot on a moving vehicle.

RECAP

The FanCash Pickup stakes were simple: seven groups of riders answering college basketball trivia. For every question they get right, they win FanCash. If they get three questions wrong, they get kicked out of the car. And at the end, they’ve got the chance to double it— or walk away with nothing.

All we had to do was rig seven cameras, suction seal lights to the top of a picture car towed by a larger camera truck, connect transmission to a passenger van, organize two police escorts, and shoot seven groups in four hours in a 14 degree snow storm with 40mph winds.

CASTING

We sourced a variety of ball knowers: a father-daughter duo, an older couple who knew Kareem when he was Lew Alcindor, real Chicago fans on the way to the game, and a deep pull: former 2022 March Madness cinderella, Doug Edert.

PRODUCTION

We knew we had a strong reason to watch built in: 2X National Champ Joakim Noah and fans with a chance to win $10K in FanCash.

So we focused on Fanatics branding, and FanCash education: we custom built a Fanatics taxi topper, vanity plate, and sign, then fitted the interior with Fanatics vinyls on the ceiling, headrests, armrests, and exterior.

Throughout the editing process, we kept cuts tight and inserted GFX and SFX to earn attention span. Custom animations helped emphasize right and wrong answers, and seven cameras gave us flexibility on shot selection.

On a super tight timeline, we were ready to go with a trailer, seven video carousel, and two hero episodes.
